No. Defendrix runs alongside Microsoft Defender. Defender stays enabled and receives no install-folder exclusion. Defendrix adds independent scanning, behavioral detection, vulnerability assessment, and fleet controls.
A previously validated installation keeps its on-device protection active during brief outages and has a 24-hour offline grace window. First activation and revalidation after that window require the configured licensing service.
By default, discovery on UDP/50844 is LAN-only. Multi-site deployments require an administrator-managed private network that preserves authenticated peer traffic; review your network provider's current documentation and your organization's security policy before deployment.
